Try to make vocational training attractive to young people and offer them a relevant alternative to gymnasium (upper secondary school).

In Denmark, for example, fewer and fewer young people are choosing vocational training after 9th and 10th grade.

Because successful stories about vocational training are rare, young people are easily frightened away.

But a new comprehensive study from Denmark shows that adolescents who do vocational training have many career opportunities and perform extremely well in the Danish labour market. Also, many say that they gained professional pride and job satisfaction from their training.

A study like this is useful, because it shows that young people with a vocational education are very well equipped for the professional challenges that they face in modern work.
