What is the TrainerGuide about

This TrainerGuide is developed as one of the outcomes of the European project "European TrainerGuide - a webtool for in-company trainers". The project runs from October 2008 to October 2010, aiming towards developing both a TrainerGuide in English as a kind of generic model and realizing six country versions.

The TrainerGuide serves as a web-based digital handbook and toolbox for its primary target group; in-company trainers.

The development objective of the TrainerGuide is to make a considerable impact on endeavours to increase the quality of in-company training of apprentices within the VET systems of the participating countries. In a larger perspective, the project aims at disseminating the TrainerGuide to other EU countries.

The guide is based on the successful results of the Danish model, whose principles were transferred to the partner countries in accordance with their needs and conditions.

 User-steered and user-tested

Companies, branch organisations and experts from 6 countries have contributed:

  • Examples from practise
  • Companies' own best materials
  • Links to official education materials
  • A wide range of templates - download and adapt for your purpose!

This TrainerGuide is developed as a generic model for 6 country versions, which will be launched in January/February 2010.

The first tests of the guide have been run in 4 countries - with extraordinarily positive feedback from in-company trainers and companies' training managers.
Results from a broader survey will be published in June 2010.
